Here we are, October 2018. A very special month for us, as it marks the first anniversary of the GECKO project. One year already and so much has already been achieved! As we prepare for the third consortium meeting that will take place in Madrid in November, this new issue of the GECKO newsletter is the perfect opportunity to give an overview of all that has been done by the partners this year and our goals for the months to come.

This summer course is targeted for Undergraduate and Graduate Students who have background or encouraging their enthusiasm in the study of engineering (in all departments/subjects) and scientists, especially those who are interested in the role of engineers during pandemic era of COVID-19. In addition, students who willing to broaden their window of knowledge into cross-discipline and inter-discipline in terms of humanitarian engineering are also welcome. Working people/ practitioner who are interested to participate in the event are very most welcome. The course will be transferable and equivalent to 3 credit units. Thus, all of participants are required to attend minimum 80% of courses, and to take the assessment (quiz) of each courses to get the certificate of attendance.

Tim Society of Petroleum Engineer (SPE) UGM berhasil menjadi juara 1 event Petroleum Integrated Days (Petrolida) tahun 2021. Kejuaraan Case Study competition tingkat internasional ini diselenggarakan SPE Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS).
Tim Proust dari Program Studi Teknik Kimia UGM yang beranggotakan Ignatius Gerald Tondi Sinaga, Krisna Kurnia Adhi, dan Narendra Asha Kusuma Negara berhasil meraih 1st Winner dan Best Presentation pada Scientific Paper Competition, Chemical Engineering Festival yang diadakan oleh Universitas Pertamina.
Tim Avengers dari Teknik Kimia UGM yang beranggotakan Ignatius Gerald Tondi Sinaga, Krisna Kurnia Adhi, Narendra Asha Kusuma Negara, Hanif Asshiddiq Rohmat, dan Adi Winata berhasil meraih 2nd Runner Up pada Kompetisi Internasional yang diadakan oleh Ikatan Mahaiswa Teknik Kimia Fakultas Teknik Universitas Indonesia.
