About ICSE

The International Conference on Sustainable Energy: Toward Energy Transition and Net-Zero Emission is a prestigious academic forum that brings together global experts to address critical issues in clean energy transition. Organized by Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), this conference aims to foster collaboration among researchers, policymakers, and professionals to accelerate the realization of sustainable, inclusive, and low-carbon energy systems.

Introduction

This international conference will be held on 6–7 November 2025 in Yogyakarta, Indonesia, hosted by the Faculty of Engineering and Vocational College of Universitas Gadjah Mada, and supported by the University of Chile and UiTM Cawangan Sarawak, Malaysia.

With the theme “Toward Energy Transition and Net-Zero Emission,” the event aligns with global commitments to address climate change by 2050. It will serve as a platform to:

  • Exchange the latest research in sustainable energy.

  • Promote innovation in renewable energy technologies.

  • Explore policy and financial frameworks supporting net-zero strategies.

  • Enhance international and regional collaboration in energy transition.

The conference is structured around four thematic clusters:

  1. Upstream and Downstream Innovation for a Fair Energy Transition

  2. Just Energy Transition and Regional Development

  3. Biodiversity Preservation in the Net-Zero Emission Agenda

  4. Technology Mastery for Renewable Energy Transition

Publications

All submitted papers will undergo peer review by the conference scientific committee. Accepted papers presented during the conference will be published in the Conference Proceedings.

Selected outstanding papers will be recommended for publication in Scopus-indexed journals or other reputable academic databases, subject to further editorial and peer-review processes by the respective journals.

Additionally, the conference recognizes excellence through the Best Paper and Best Oral Presenter Awards.
