It is our great pleasure to announce that AUN/SEED-Net has launched two special programs for this fiscal year 2011; they are (1) Collaborative Research with Industry (CRI) and (2) Special Research for Alumni (SRA).
- Collaborative Research with Industry (CRI)
- The purpose of the programis to provide the fund support for the joint research activities and promote research collaboration among MIs, JSUs (plus G-30universities, which are Japanese universities funded by Global 30 (G-30) Project*) and industry. Thus, the proposed research projectmust obtain from the industries approximately 20% of counter budget from the total budget excluding from this CRI fund.

- Application must be submitted by the Principal investigator who must be a full-time faculty member of MIs (except Singapore and Brunei). S/he will assume full responsibility for the implementation of the research project. The research project must also include at least on co-researcher from JSUs or Japanese universities under Global 30 Project.
- The program offers up to 5 grants, which the ceiling amount of US$ 50,000 per grant for the contract period between 1 October 2011 – 10 March 2013. The research fund shall be allocated based on the proposal once it is approved.

- Special Research for Alumni (SRA)
- The programis to provide designed to primarily support AUN/SEED-Net alumni members who are being employed as full-time faculty member or research member at AUN/SEED-Net MIs to conduct the research and strengthen the partnership with Japanese Universities. In addition to AUN/SEED-Net graduates, the program extends support to Monbukagakusho scholarship graduates from Japanese universities supported by Global 30 Project(Monbukagakusho Scholarship is offered by Ministry of Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science & Technology in Japan or MEXT).
- Application must be submitted by the Principal investigator who must be the UN/SEED-Net doctoral graduates or Monbukagakusho scholarship’s doctoral graduates graduated from AUN/SEED-Net JSUs or Japanese Universities supported by Global 30 Project who are under the age of 40 at the time of application, working as a full-time faculty member or research member of AUN/SEED-Net MIs (except Brunei and Singapore) and not pursuing any degree at the time of application. The research project must also include at least on co-researcher from JSUs or Japanese universities under Global 30 Project.
- The program offers up to 20 grants, which the ceiling amount of US$ 25,000 per grant for the contract period between 1 October 2011 – 10 March 2013. The research fund shall be allocated based on the proposal once it is approved.
