The Master Program in Architecture of Universitas Gadjah Mada focuses in shaping up the analytical ability of the students in conducting great impact researches that broaden the knowledge and make great contribution to society. The appreciation towards wide range variety of research method is tailored to develop the synergy between learning and researching which is the excellence of the tradition of this program. It is with the hope that upon completion, the graduates are equipped with abilities to identify, analyze, structure and thus provide a professional research-based solution in architectural and related problems. There are three concentration in Master Program in Architecture as the focus of field study that students can choose, as follows:

Architecture
Concentration in Architecture is a distinctly program based on research that focusing on understanding and developing architecture as the process and product of planning, designing, and constructing form, space, and ambience that reflect functional, technical, social, and aesthetic considerations. At the end of the program, the graduates are expected to have high quality of knowledge and good sense of their individuals good skills and sensitivity to frame and weave the broader architectural issues revealed in the context of theory of architecture, history of architecture, architectural development and planning, as well as conservation and engineering as they develop their very own professional improvement.

Urban Design
Concentration in Urban Design is a distinctly program in design focusing to serve societal need for better design innovation and thus developing better skills of design at urban scales from street networks to inter-city layouts. Engaged in experiential learning process, students are to develop their in-depth review skills as to produce and implement urban design projects on the bases of the relevant theories perceived, the approaches, and contexts. At the end of the program, the graduates are expected to have high quality of knowledge, skills, and good sense of appreciation in urban construction of building projects. They are also to have excellent capacity to tackle comprehensively the urban design scenarios, guidelines, concepts, frameworks, policies, strategies, and programs.

Tourism Planning
Concentration in Tourism Planning sets up the students in understanding tourism theory, its high impact and qualified implementation and practice. This program is mainly to develop the excellent ability of the students to elaborate current related issues in terms of tourism planning, the design, and management approaches. This program promotes the development of skills and ability of students during their learning process to integrate social, economic, cultural, environmental, and political perspectives with the various best practices of case studies. Upon completion of the program, the graduates will have high quality of competencies in tourism planning and development and are ready to be involved in setting their own paths of carreers in government, business, tourism/recreation board and consulting. The curriculum of this program is established based on current deep understanding of tourism theory, mapped and drawn on best practices and case studies from the Indonesian and international tourism industry with the flexibility and possibility to be updated in accordance to the fast changing development in tourism world.
