International Conference on Sustainable Energy: Toward Energy Transition and Net-Zero Emission (ICoSE)

The international conference titled “International Conference on Sustainable Energy: Toward Energy Transition and Net-Zero Emission” is a prestigious academic forum organized by Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) through collaboration between the Faculty of Engineering and Sekolah Vokasi. This event also involves international partners, namely the University of Chile (Chile) and UiTM Sarawak Branch (Malaysia), and is supported by CAS-ANSO (Chinese Academy of Sciences-Alliance of National and International Science Organizations for the Belt and Road Regions).

The conference is driven by the urgent global need to accelerate the transition to clean energy and achieve the target of net-zero emissions by 2050, in line with global commitments such as the Paris Agreement. Indonesia, as a developing country with abundant natural resources, has a strategic role in this effort. Therefore, this conference serves as an important platform for academics, policymakers, industry players, and civil society to discuss innovative and sustainable energy solutions.

This conference will cover four main clusters: (1) Upstream-Downstream Innovation for Just Energy Transition, (2) Energy Transition and Regional Development, (3) Biodiversity Conservation in the Net-Zero Agenda, and (4) Mastery of Technology for Renewable Energy. These topics are not only scientifically relevant but also have broad social, economic, and environmental impacts both nationally and internationally.

Through this conference, it is expected to achieve cross-sectoral synergy in supporting sustainable development, promoting green investment, and strengthening Indonesia’s role in the global discourse on energy and the environment.
