Sebanyak 150 peneliti dan akademisi teknik sipil dari berbagai belahan dunia mengikuti konferensi 1st internasional Sustainable Civil Engineering Structures and Construction Materials di UGM. Kegiatan yang digelar Jurusan Teknik Sipil dan Lingkungan UGM dengan Hokkaido University, Jepang dan Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), Jerman berlangsung selama tiga hari, 11-13 September 2012 bertempat di University Center (UC) UGM.
